What a great company. The service from the hosts was faultless, efficient and friendly. Great attention to detail.

Stayed in the Doormouse, a cozy and well-equipped Hymer motorhome, while exploring the beautiful Lake District around Ambleside, and it was a fantastic experience! The motorhome was thoughtfully designed with all the amenities you could want for a comfortable and convenient getaway.

The kitchen was surprisingly spacious, with everything we needed to cook our meals — from a gas stove to a microwave and a decent-sized fridge. The storage was cleverly utilized, so it felt easy to keep things organized, even with all our gear. The sleeping area was cozy and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of hiking and exploring. The bathroom, though compact, had a functional shower and enough space for a quick refresh.

Doormouse also came equipped with a heater, which kept us warm during the cooler Lake District nights, and the seating area was a perfect spot for unwinding with a cup of tea, taking in the stunning scenery through the large windows. Ambleside and the surrounding areas offer so many picturesque spots, and it was great to have the flexibility to explore at our own pace.

One of the highlights was the freedom the motorhome provided — we could park up near scenic spots, enjoy lakeside views, and move on to the next location when we wanted. Plus, it was a breeze to drive, even on some of the narrower Lake District roads.

Overall, Doormouse was a delightful home on wheels, perfect for a cozy retreat and a memorable way to experience the Lake District. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to combine the comfort of a well-equipped space with the adventure of the open road!

This was our first trip in a motorhome. We wanted to keep things cheap but still have a family holiday, but I was a bit nervous about how it would all go. I have to say, the whole experience was a joy.

Everything was provided in the van and all we had do was turn up and drive off after a short walkthrough of how everything worked.

We even got the weather when we arrived at the site. We are already planning a second outing as the van was great to use.
